"Oxy marches to honor King" - January 14, 1986

Description

1986 marks the first year of an observed, official Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Black Student Alliance and the Reconciliation Team of the Protestant Christian Community joined together to develop the commemoration and march for King's honor. The march was also to signify peace in South Africa. The Eagle Rock and Highland Park community joined Oxy students as they marched around the neighborhoods and ended in the quad. Pictures form the march are from the following Weekly edition with students' editorials on the event.
